Our college SARASWAT HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL, GODBHAGA, is situated on N.H.-53 and in the border area of two district Sambalpur and Bargarh. The college situated in the middle point of the area which is known as “Rice bowl of Odisha”. In the radius of 10 K.M., the Larambha college and Attabira college are situated in the Southern and Western side of our college respectively.
Our college was born on 5th September 1991 with 92 students in the building adjacent to Janata High School. It’s started with Arts Stream with 128 students. The college is affiliated to CHSE Odisha. In 1991 a committee was formed known as Panchayat Parisad represented by the Panchayat of Godbhaga, Kalamati, Silat, Lahanda, Kumelsingha, Janged&Larasara. In the first meeting the members present decided to have a college for the students, who were deprived of basic educational facilities after class 10th. This college is particularly meant for those students who belongs to poor and backward families of this areas. In the beginning the college Since than the college has been growing steadily to the help and support of the local community.
Our college has been declared as an aided educational institution in the year 2008. In the year 2019 we got the permission to increase the student strength from 128 to 192to fulfil the needs of the ever increasing students. Recently we got the permission to open to new optional subjects ie. “Information Technology” and “Home Science”.
